Those selling a mansion in Vancouver originally listed for $39.98 million have shaved $20 million off the asking price over the last few years.
The Shaughnessy house at 1233 Tecumseh Ave. was built in 2019, though the facade is from the 1922 luxury residence that was built there more than a century ago.
After it was redone, it didn't sell. Originally on the market for $39.98 million in 2019; it dropped to $35.8 million and then $33.99 million by the end of 2021.
However, it still hasn't sold, and its current listing shows the asking price has been slashed by a massive amount, as it's listed now for $19.88 million, which is still a huge amount of money.
The asking price is more in line with BC Assessment's evaluation, which pegs it at $18.99 million. At that price it's considered the 118th most expensive residential property in B.C.
The property itself last sold in 2014 for $4.6 million according to REW's records.
