REGINA — A Regina police sergeant is facing charges after it's alleged he used internal databases to pursue personal relationships.

Police say Robert Eric Semenchuck is charged with breach of trust and unauthorized use of a computer.

They say officers were made aware of the allegations against the 53-year-old in 2023 when someone came forward with concerns.

Police say they suspended the sergeant and removed his access to all databases.

Semenchuck is to make his first court appearance in Regina next month.

He has been a member of the police service for 22 years.
