In a narrative defined by resilience and empowerment, Chanelle Chen's journey unfolds as a testament to the triumph of determination over adversity. From a challenging upbringing and an early departure from university, she navigated through a series of transient jobs, only to face her darkest chapter when a divorce compelled her to relocate to a basement with her one-year-old daughter.

The turning point in Chen’s life occurred when she embarked on the quest for quality daycare facilities for her daughter, revealing a glaring scarcity of daycare centers in Burnaby prioritizing both learning facilitation and character development. Fueled by this realization and driven by the question of whether other parents faced similar challenges, Chanelle envisioned starting a daycare that genuinely focused on holistic early childhood development.

Undeterred by her past struggles in academia, Chen dedicated herself to mastering the intricacies of starting a childcare business. Recognizing her prior challenges as a lack of motivation and guidance rather than intelligence, she set out to transform her vision into reality.

Securing investors proved to be the next hurdle, with skepticism from even her own family members. Despite the lack of a successful track record, Chen's tenacity prevailed, and she secured startup funding, gaining the confidence needed for her entrepreneurial endeavour.

Locating a suitable site became a prolonged challenge, involving months of walking, numerous bids, and creative problem-solving. Despite setbacks, Chen began  a three-year journey of construction for a challenging site, regulatory compliance, and overcoming various obstacles.

At the outset, Chanelle wore multiple hats—graphic designer, administrator, interior designer, purchaser, and sometimes janitor—all in the pursuit of providing the best services to the children. Over time, systems were established, and the daycare began to run smoothly, offering enhanced services and education to both parents and children.
