Fall begins this weekend, and rain is expected for Burnaby and across Metro Vancouver.

You might want to run outside right now and bask in that sunshine over Burnaby — because you may not see a lot of it over the coming week.

Though today is expected to hit a high of 23 C under sunny skies in Burnaby, the Weatherhood local forecast shows a distinct downturn starting this weekend — coinciding with the official arrival of fall at 11:50 p.m. tonight (Friday, Sept. 22).

Saturday's expected to see clouds and showers (with a bit of sunshine), with rain in the overnight hours into Sunday. The weekend will remain warmish, however,  with highs of 18 C expected on Saturday and 19 C on Sunday.

Come Monday, the week is expected to take a turn for the wetter, with as much as 27 mm of rain expected Monday, and highs of just 16 C.

Tuesday could see another 9 mm of rain, with highs of 18 C, while Wednesday could see another 12 mm of rain and a high of 17 C.
