Do you have art-loving kids in the house? Be sure to take them to Burnaby Art Gallery for two new exhibitions showcasing student work: Arts Alive, which displays work from elementary school students; and Transitions, which features work by high school students in the gallery’s apprenticeship program.
The exhibition starts Thursday, May 2, with an opening reception at 6 p.m., and runs to Sunday, June 9.
Two In the BAG Family Sundays are being offered to give families a chance to get into the studio and create their own work inspired by the exhibition.
They’re on May 12 and June 9, from 1 to 4 p.m. both days. The May 12 theme is Symbols, Patterns, Rotate, Repeat, and the June 9 theme is Transitions.
It’s free to take part in the In the BAG program, and admission to the gallery is by donation. See www.burnabyartgallery.ca or call 604-297-4422 for details.
