Government rebates, cutting-edge technology and the latest in home décor can make home improvements feel overwhelming before the hammer hits its first nail.
But with the right resources, transforming your space doesn’t have to be so daunting.
Your home improvement hub
Picture a multi-day home improvement show that includes local contractors, businesses and government advice all under one roof, providing the best in contemporary home improvement options that meet both the budgetary and stylistic needs of 2025.
Step into the 24th annual Tri-City Spring Home Show, running March 28 to 30 at Coquitlam’s Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex.
“For me, I just love sitting back and watching the interactions people are having,” says show organizer Darcy Hope. “I love watching our exhibitors connect with new clients, I love watching the public find what they're looking for and having a good experience while they're walking through the show.”
Companies and contractors from all corners of Metro Vancouver will be available over the course of the three-day event, covering the entirety of your property, inside and out: windows/doors; patio covers; heating and cooling; landscaping; countertops; realtors; painters and so much more.
“It's a professional, neutral environment where people can come and feel comfortable in that they aren’t going to be pressured into anything,” Hope says. “It's more a place for people to make that initial contact to set up a future appointment or to come to the house and do a proper estimate.”
Connect with local experts
The event format is perfect for both experienced reno warriors or the first-time newbie alike. And what separates the show from others is its emphasis on local companies, trades and trends. Far from a big-box trade show, it’s an event where face-to-face relationships are forged that often last decades.
Hope notes that this key differentiator represents a shift for many consumers who want the tactile experience of looking at and touching products in person, something that online sales or large, monolithic brands simply can’t replicate.
“You can do a lot of research online, but it can be hard to know what it is you're actually getting sometimes, where that information is coming from and if it’s accurate,” Hope says. “With our show, you're getting information straight from the source.”

As for contemporary trends to watch for this year, Hope points to a number of options. There is a concerted effort by many homeowners to make their homes as efficient–both energy and money-wise–as possible. To that end, exhibitors will display the latest advancements in HVAC, solar, wall charging, power walls and energy-saving systems.
Along the exterior of the home, Hope highlights a series of hot-button appeals around rainwater harvesting plans, permanent exterior lighting options around the eaves and soffits or even smartphone automation for holiday lighting.
“We’re starting to live in smaller spaces compared to before and with that comes cost and space restraints,” Hope says. “A show like this can help people be more creative around how they’re transforming their spaces.”
