An acclaimed Canadian choral ensemble is bringing an early Christmas gift to local audiences.
musica intima is presenting its Christmas concert, from heaven came, at Knox Presbyterian Church in New Westminster on Wednesday, Dec. 21.
The program encompasses Christmas music old and new, including traditional folk favourites and modern settings of ancient stories.
Featured repertoire includes intima's hallmark Christmas piece, Angels From Heaven Came, along with Vancouver composer Larry Nickel's Mary Treasured All These Things.
The concert features alto soloist Melanie Adams, a New Westminster resident who runs a voice studio in the city.
"This concert is a wonderful opportunity for New West residents to attend a concert by Vancouver's best vocal ensemble, whose annual Christmas concert are considered a huge highlight of every Christmas season and regularly sell out in Vancouver," Adams said.
The concert is set to start at 7:30 p.m.
Knox Presbyterian is at 403 East Columbia St.
Tickets are $33 regular, $28 for seniors and $10 for students.
The concert is also being presented Friday, Dec. 16 at Christ Church Cathedral in Vancouver, Saturday, Dec. 17 at West Vancouver United Church and Tuesday, Dec. 20 at St. Philip's Anglican Church in Vancouver.
