On Sept. 16, University High Street was blocked off to traffic for students and community members to congregate and play at SFU StreetFest!
Hosted by Simon Fraser University, UniverCity and the Simon Fraser Student Society (SFSS), this was the return of StreetFest! after a two year pandemic break.
The event included street performers, like Faye Havoc, a performer with Caravan of Curiosities, who posed for photos with her boa constrictor named Freckles.
An artisan market hosted booths for artists selling jewelry and handcrafted items; nearby food trucks hawked their tasty treats.
Some children clambored up a climbing wall, while others played basketball or raced through a track for mini-cars.
Burnaby NOW reporters Abhinaya Natesh and Lauren Vanderdeen were on hand to record the scene.
