Chicanes are curves built into roads that can increase the amount of public space available on a corridor.

Burnaby has announced it's begun Phase 2 of the Edmonds speed and traffic management study.

The city is hoping to get a better understanding of speed and traffic concerns in the area bounded by Edmonds Street, Kingsway, Canada Way and the New Westminster border at 10th Avenue.

Phase 1 of the study focused on gathering speed and traffic-related concerns from the community.

The city says during the first round of engagement, it collected valuable feedback from the community regarding specific areas that could benefit from traffic calming measures.

The feedback, used in conjunction with traffic data, has helped the city locate potential locations and mitigation strategies.

Key themes, findings and recommendations from the Phase 1 survey were made publicly available online.

During the latest phase, the city is now looking for further input on the proposed recommendations.

Residents are able to share their opinions by taking the Phase 2 survey which is available online until Dec. 8, 2024

Information pop-up events where residents can learn more about the project and connect with project teams in person during two scheduled seminars:
