A 24-year-old Burnaby man is recovering after being stabbed in the Lansdowne Shopping Centre parking lot in Richmond early Monday morning. Richmond RCMP responded to a report of an assault with weapons just before 5 a.m.

A 24-year-old Burnaby man is recovering after being stabbed in the Lansdowne Shopping Centre parking lot in Richmond early Monday morning.

Richmond RCMP responded to a report of an assault with weapons just before 5 a.m. When police arrived, they found the Burnaby man with life-threatening injuries. He underwent surgery on Monday and is expected to recover.

The Richmond RCMP's serious crime section is continuing to investigate the incident and has interviewed a number of witnesses to piece together what exactly occurred.
