City of Burnaby residents will get first chance at recreational activities for the fall and winter, including swimming.

Burnaby residents looking to participate in recreational activities this coming fall and winter will have priority access before general registration.

The City of Burnaby says priority registration will be on Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. for all swim and skate programs while all other programs will be available on a priority basis on Aug. 17 at 10 a.m.

General registration will begin at 10 a.m. on Aug. 19.

The city says priority registration times are being staggered to make it easier for Burnaby residents to have access by phone and online services amid high volumes of registration.

Fall programs include:

  • Pro-D Day and Winter Break Camps at Burnaby's recreation centres and cultural facilities
  • Outdoor programs including kayaking, canoeing and "Pump It Up: Intro to Biking"
  • 55+ line dance, cardio drumming and yoga at Burnaby senior centres
  • Printmaking and Pinot at the Burnaby Art Gallery
  • Blacksmithing courses at the Burnaby Village Museum
  • Swim, dance, music, ceramic, drawing and painting programs for all ages

A full list of programs for youth, adults, children, preschoolers and those 55+ and registration details are available on the city website
