Burnaby's Summer Cinema celebration of fun movies will return in August.

It’s shaping up to be a summer of colourful films in Burnaby as the annual Summer Cinema festivities kick off in August.

The free weekly events will start at Confederation Park Aug. 2 and then move to Civic Square the following three Fridays.

Costumed characters from each of the movies will make appearances before the show – and guests are encouraged to dress up in their own costumes.

Bring a blanket or chair, movie snacks and an umbrella depending on the weather, as the events will take place rain or shine.
