Burnaby resident Idrissa Brathwaite is "set for life" after recently winning $675,000.

Would you keep it a secret if you won the lottery?

That's what Idrissa Brathwaite did after the Burnaby woman recently found out she was $675,000 richer.

The local resident scratched the six-figure pay day while playing Set For Life after purchasing a ticket at the Shoppers Drug Mart near the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Willingdon Avenue.

"I just stared at the ticket in disbelief and then validated it at the Shopper Drug Mart I purchased it from," Brathwaite explained in a release from the BC Lotto Corporation (BCLC).

She added she was shocked to learn she won the grand prize, noting she was relaxing at home when finding out her earnings and decided to tell "absolutely no one" until BCLC made the official announcement.

Brathwaite now has plans to explore the great outdoors — and then some.

"I would like to take a trip around the world," she said. "It's an incredible feeling!"

According to BCLC, more than $7 million has been claimed by B.C. lottery players in Set For Life prizes for 2023 so far.
