Environment Week is almost here and the City of Burnaby has a program of events and activities to celebrate local ecosystems.
Registration is required for many of the activities listed, so make sure to double check!
The city will host guided "forest bathing," inspired by the Japanese art Shinrin-yoku on Sunday June 2 at Central Park and Saturday June 8 at Confederation Park.
You can learn how to identify trees on June 2 at Burnaby Lake, or attend a guided bird watching and heron colony viewing tour June 2.
The Cariboo Heights Forest Preservation Society will hold a fun, family-friendly stroll on all things birds, blossoms and berries through Burnaby's "secret forest" June 2.
Pop-up activities will be held at Amazing Brentwood on June 2 and Edmonds Park Plaza June 8. Learn about the city's plans for urban forests, water conservation and more.
You can drop into the Burnaby Eco-Centre's open house on June 8, or attend an urban stream workshop at Byrne Creek.
Mark out storm drains by painting yellow-fish on the road - the kits are available year-round, but why not try it out this week?
June 3 to 9 is Go By Bike Week, where you'll have a chance to win prizes by cycling.
