It appears COVID-19 case rates throughout Burnaby aren't budging.
According to the latest COVID-19 Surveillance Dashboard update from Oct. 5 to 11, 2021, case rates in two of the four regions are close to hitting 10.
The data is collected ad published by the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC).
As hospital admissions continue to swing upwards, unvaccinated people continue to be largely responsible for much of the spread.
Health Minister Adrian Dix and provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry have each called the phenomenon the "pandemic of the unvaccinated."
Statistics include between Oct. 5 and 11, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 68% of new cases. Between Sept. 28 and Oct. 11, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 73.4% of hospitalizations.
Vaccination data shows all four of Burnaby's quadrants have either hit or gone over 90% of those eligible receiving their first dose, but second doses in the four regions all sit at less than 90%.
Case rates are new cases per 100,000 people by local health area and community health service area.
