Police say there was no safety risk during an incident that drew a slew of first responders to a Burnaby apartment building Monday morning.
Officers were called to a highrise near Lougheed Highway and Douglas Road at about 9:40 a.m. for a "check wellbeing" after reports of a woman screaming inside an apartment, according to an emailed Burnaby RCMP statement.
"Burnaby RCMP officers were able to speak with the woman, and determine she was not in distress and there was no safety risk," the email said.
Photos showed police vehicles, fire trucks and two ambulances at 4880 Lougheed Highway.
Paramedics were called to the scene at 9:54 a.m. for a "person in need of medical care," according to BC Emergency Health Services.
"The patient did not require hospital transport," public information officer Rachelle Bown said in an email.
