Police in Burnaby are looking to identify a 40-something woman who allegedly attacked a stranger near the Metrotown bus loop Friday.
The incident happened just before noon, according to Burnaby RCMP.
"The victim, who is in her twenties, had just left the mall and was standing near the bus loop when a woman who was not known to her approached her without saying anything, hit her, grabbed her hair and pulled her to the ground," stated a news release.
The suspect then walked towards the Metrotown SkyTrain station, the release said.
Investigators obtained video of the incident, and Burnaby RCMP has released images of the suspect in the hope of identifying her.
She is described as about 45 years old, 5’1,” with a medium build and short hair.
She was wearing a purple jacket and blue jeans, and was carrying two large maroon bags.
"While the victim was thankfully not injured, we want people to be aware of this incident, and to call our investigators if they have information on the suspect's identity," Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Mike Kalanj said in the release.
Anyone with information is asked to call Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
