The City of Burnaby wants your thoughts on new pedestrian and cycling routes along Lakefield Drive and Fourth Street just southwest of Robert Burnaby Park.
The infrastructure project is coming alongside Fortis BC’s Pattullo gas line replacement project which required construction along Lakefield Drive.
“The City of Burnaby aims to improve accessibility and provide opportunities for those who travel in this area to shift to healthy and sustainable modes of transportation—such as walking, rolling and cycling,” according to the project’s website.
The proposals come after strong community feedback in the summer which advocated the original plan to close a section of Lakefield Drive and Fourth Street to vehicles would impair nearby residents’ quality of life.
You can complete an online survey regarding the three new design proposals until the end of the day on Sunday, Oct. 30.
