Letter: Burnaby apartment owners should have a parking spot — maybe two

Burnaby resident believes parking doesn't need to be reduced. It needs to be properly designed and allocated.

I don't agree that we need to reduce parking.

Sounds wonderful, take transit but just leads to frustration.

I have always believed we need a minimum of two stalls per apartment and that they need to come with it.

Better to have no on street parking and reduce both road congestion and the number of cyclists being doored.

My parents had two stalls and it was absolutely wonderful to not have to hunt for a place in limited visitor parking or out on the street when visiting.

If there is some concern for empty stalls, let owners put a storage shed or bike lockup in an unneeded stall — even rent it out to a neighbour for some extra cash.

Finally, ensure there is mandatory charging infrastructure in place for the electric cars and bikes (a 120/240v 20amp plug on a load share system is fine with maybe one or two high powered chargers for emergency use).
