This letter writer believes Burnaby city council needs to create a "coherent policy" to get out of the housing crisis.

Re: 'What if we say no?': Burnaby defies B.C.'s transit-oriented housing laws (June 27, 2024)

I was extremely disappointed to learn that Burnaby city council decided to defy the provincial legislation to allow taller buildings near transit hubs by June 30.

Our city is facing a housing crisis.

While the politicians and bureaucrats debate about policies, many citizens cannot find affordable housing and we struggle daily with the basic necessities of life.

We don’t need our city to put up more roadblocks to delay the housing developments.

We need more housing supply.

We need our elected officials to put together a coherent policy to get us out of this crisis.
