The Burnaby NOW has named Chris Campbell as its new editor to oversee the editorial content in both its print editions and digital platforms.
Chris comes to the NOW with more than 25 years of experience in journalism. He has worked as a reporter and an editor at several Fraser Valley community newspapers, followed by several years at Vancouver-based commuter daily 24 Hours, where he served as its managing editor.
“We’re excited to have Chris on board because of his depth of experience in community journalism,” said NOW publisher Lara Graham.
Born and raised in Burnaby, Chris spent much of his journalism career in the communities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, where he also raised a family and was active in the community’s arts scene. He has since moved back to Burnaby, living near Simon Fraser University on Burnaby Mountain.
“Since moving back to my hometown, I’ve been an avid reader of the NOW because I know that’s the best place to get to know my community,” Chris said. “And to now be the paper’s new editor is a dream come true.”
