A second suspect charged in the death of 19-year-old Ryan Nagy in Burnaby in June 2023 has been released on bail with electronic monitoring.

Nagy died after a targeted "altercation" at a home in the 7600 block of 17th Avenue on June 29, 2023, according to police.

Burnaby RCMP was called to the residence at about 7:05 a.m. for reports of a home invasion, according to a police statement at the time.

Officers located Nagy suffering from life-threatening injuries, and he died at the scene, police said.

A second victim was also located with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Sept. 14, Rhoda Mboka Diabikulu, 23, was charged with manslaughter and forcible confinement in the case along with three co-accused: Ali Shamkhi, 20, Rais Usman, 20, and Ousmaine Keita, 20.

Diabikulu was in Vancouver provincial court Tuesday for a bail hearing.

She was released on a $5,000 cash bail, according to the court registry.

During her release, she will be under house arrest with electronic monitoring 24-7 unless she has permission from her bail supervisor to be outside of her home for employment, education or medical reasons.

She is banned from contacting the other victim in the case, certain members of Nagy's family, and a list of other people.

She is not allowed to apply for a Canadian or American passport and will be required to seek employment or education while on bail.

Because of a publication ban, no information presented at Diabikulu’s bail hearing, including the judge's reasons for granting bail, can be made public.

Diabikulu’s next court date is Jan. 6.

Two of her co-accused remain in custody, according to the court registry.

The third, Keita, was released on bail in October.
