It turns out the first Burnaby Lake Run event in 2018 was just a warm up.

The afternoon kids and family festivalis packed with fun and exciting activities for children of all ages and runs from noon to 4 p.m. Parents are also welcome to run with kids. Custom-designed race shirts will be distributed to all runners, and custom-designed finish medals will be delivered to kids only.

The Concord Burnaby Lake run is organized by the Canada LaPower Running Society and supported by the City of Burnaby, Tourism Burnaby and many more local non-profit organizations and sponsors, including the Burnaby NOW.
The run is expected to become part of the community life as an annual event and encourage more people to improve their lifestyle with positive and healthy activities.
The run is also proudly raising awareness and funds for charity partner Burnaby Hospital Foundation.
For Burnaby Mayor Mike Hurley, who has been organizing a series of walking events to promote health, the run on Sept. 22 sends a good message to the community.
“Events like these … help us remember how much fun it is to be active,” Hurley said during an event press conference on Friday.
Hurley was also thrilled that the proceeds of the event will be donated to the Burnaby Hospital Foundation, which purchases much-needed equipment for our community hospital.
