Burnaby's Wendy Leung has been named Ms. of Vancouver, Ms of BC and for a second consecutive year, as well as the Canadian Beauty Festival Ambassador.

Building a dynasty by putting community first.

Wendy Leung said she's committed to showing the world the importance of supporting her neighbours, especially those struggling day-to-day.

The Burnaby beauty queen will soon get that opportunity after claiming three major crowns last year, including Miss Canada Globe Productions' Canadian Beauty Festival Ambassador.

That title came from the Ms. of Canada pageant in Toronto as one of the double champions of the 25th annual event.

It also means she'll compete in up to two international pageants this year.

Leung also earned repeat sashes for 2024-25 as Ms. of Vancouver and Ms. of British Columbia, further solidifying her lifelong dreams of winning multiple beauty pageants.

Since her latest achievements, Leung has lived up to the ambassador national title by participating in 65 community fundraisers and events.

This has included volunteering at Burnaby gatherings like Canada Day StreetFest, where she welcomed thousands of residents and visitors alongside Carmen Mills.

"On my one quick tour of the site I turned around in the middle of the street and faced the intersection as a tide of happy people poured through the rainbow arch and past me, flowing down Central Boulevard," the City of Burnaby Festivals and Events spokesperson said in an email shared by Leung.

"The multi-hued and gaily attired river of beings swept by, with tiny fluttering maple-leaf flags tying it all together, a moving tapestry of harmony and peace and possibility, We created this, together."

Leung also took her message of health to the Crystal Ball gala for the BC Children's Hospital Foundation with its volunteer team. The event raised $4.2 million.

As well, Leung wore her crowns with pride as a donor guest at the BC Women's Health Foundation's Glow Gala in 2024.

Other appearances Leung has notched during her current reign have included (in no particular order):

  • Burnaby Hospital Foundation's For the Love of Burnaby campaign
  • Edmonds Festival of Lights participant
  • Angels on Earth Society in a good will visit at the George Derby Centre for senior veterans
  • Burnaby Neighbourhood House Christmas charity gift wrap volunteer supervisor
  • Burnaby Neighbourhood House Gala volunteer
  • Burnaby-New Westminster Walk for Alzheimer's volunteer
  • Parkway Alive program volunteer, serving residents and visitors in a public "backyard" setting

In addition to community, Leung's other passions include poverty relief for children around the world — a message of health and well-being that's been a big part of her campaigns each year.

According to its website, Miss Canada Globe Productions is a non-profit organization that encourages education, charity and inner beauty. Pageants under its umbrella are said to be inclusive of women up to age 40.
