Fireworks are allowed in Burnaby, as long as you follow these rules.

As Halloween approaches, so too does the time when brightly coloured (and loud) fireworks light up the sky.

While fireworks aren't generally permitted in neighbouring Vancouver or Surrey, the City of Burnaby allows residents to set off low-hazard fireworks on Oct. 31 for Halloween – as long as people follow the rules.

In the city's fact sheet, the fire department reminds residents: "Please be kind, keep all pets safely indoors."
