Vancouver International Airport has been ranked the best airport in North America for the 10th year in row by the Skytrax World Airport Awards.
Denver placed second, with Harts-field Jackson placing third. Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky ranked fourth, with Houston George Bush placing fifth.
Two other Canadian airports made the top ten, with Toronto placing seventh and Montreal coming in tenth.
Singapore’s Changi Airport was voted the best airport in the world for the seventh year in a row. Tokyo Haneda in Japan placed second, and Seoul Incheon in Korea placed third.
YVR was ranked the 19th best airport in the world – it placed 14th in 2018.
The Fairmont Vancouver Airport was also voted the seventh best airport hotel in the world. The Crowne Plaza Changi Airport placed first, with the Pullman Guangzhou Airport placing second. The Sofitel London Heathrow came third.
The World Airport Awards began in 1999, after Skytrax launched its first global survey. Now, they assess customer service and facilities across over 550 airports worldwide.
Vancouver International Airport was also named one of the top ten international airports for wellness according to a recent study. The list ranks 25 airports on the efforts they make to help passengers be healthy and feel good – both physically and mentally.
