Burnaby Haida Speed Skating Club hosts its annual interclub short track speed skating meet at the Bill Copeland Arena on Saturday, Jan. 14. Racing starts at 8 a.m. and continues throughout the day until about 4:30 p.m. Interested individuals are encouraged to come out and learn about this fast exciting sport. Athletes from throughout the Lower Mainland, parts of Vancouver Island, Washington State and as far away as Kamloops will compete. Come and see some of B.C.'s up-and-coming racers in action. All age groups, from the youngest active start category (under 5 years old) to the active 4 fife skaters (As old as in their 80's) will compete. Admission is free.
