The Burnaby Metro didn’t waste anytime in getting back in the groove.
Coming off the Christmas break, the
Metro Select League’s under-18 A division leaders collected their 11th victory of the season on Sunday, blanking North Shore 3-0 at Burnaby Lake.
A two-goal performance from Anjali Dhaliwal set the tone for the Metro, who have only lost once -- back on Oct. 25 -- this season.
Also scoring for Burnaby was Danijela Gordic, while Alishia Mustard picked up the shutout.
In fact, the club has surrendered just six goals so far while cashing in 44 times against the opposition.
While comfortably atop the league standings, this week’s test will be a good one, as Burnaby visits second-place Delta Coastal Selects 98 in South Surrey.
Their lone loss was a 3-2 decision 10 weeks ago, on home turf, to the same Delta side.
Metro leads the league with an 11-1-1 record, seven points up on Delta.
