The Moscrop Panthers junior boys’ volleyball team pulled off an unthinkable playoff last week.
The Panthers won the Vancouver & District boys’ banner following a marathon five-set tiebreaker over the Hugh McRoberts Strikers.
Trailing Moscrop 2-0 in the third set, the Strikers had several match points in the set before eventually losing 31-29 to their West Burnaby opponents. Moscrop went on to win the banner in the fifth set.
The Burnaby team was coached by Grade 12 student and senior girls player Liza Fesechko.
