Burnaby South Secondary School shooting guard Manroop Clair led Drive Elite team scoring at the recent 17-and-under Big Foot Las Vegas Live basketball tournament.

Clair averaged close to 27 points per game for the club team, including 24 in a 61-57 win over California Supreme Red in the round of 32.

TENNIS LEAGUES

Local tennis players are invited to sign up in both singles and doubles for community tennis leagues, beginning Sept. 3.

Players are matched with others of their skill level. All players and teams are guaranteed six matches.

FREE AGENT SIGNS

Nenad Gajic of Burnaby was one of six free agents to sign with the Washington Stealth of the National Lacrosse League last week.

Gajic, who has played in 50 previous NLL games all with the Colorado Mammoth, has collected 80 points in his pro indoor career, including 22 goals.
