I was fortunate enough to attend the opening night of the Burnaby Lyric Opera's performance of Pagliacci and Gianni Schicchi last week. What a treat!
Burnaby residents should feel very fortunate to have the Shadbolt Theatre - a great venue, free parking and no downtown traffic - and to be able to enjoy the rising stars of tomorrow through the Burnaby Lyric Opera is icing on the cake. The offerings this year I found exceptionally entertaining. Gianni Schicchi was laugh-out-loud funny, and Pagliacci, well, all the passion you would expect in an operatic tragedy is there.
If you like opera, I encourage you to support the Burnaby Lyric Opera.
