The British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) has been named among the best employers in Canada during 2025, according to Forbes' annual list.
This year marks the fifth straight year the post-secondary institution has made the list.
They cracked the top 100, coming in at 96th place overall from categories including:
- Aerospace and defence
- Automotive
- Banking and financial services
- Clothing, shoes and sports equipment
- Construction, chemicals and raw materials
- Drugs and biotechnology
- Education
- Engineering and manufacturing
- Food, soft beverages, alcohol and tobacco
- Government services
- Health-care equipment and services
- Health care and social services
- IT software and services
- Insurance
- Media and advertising
- Packaged goods
- Professional services
- Restaurants
- Retail and wholesale
- Semiconductors, electronics and electrical engineering
- Telecommunication services and cable supplier
- Transportation and logistics
- Travel and leisure
- Utilities
The list is based on an independent survey of more than 40,000 employees across Canada.
Participants are drawn from organizations that have more than 500 employees. Feedback is provided anonymously on multiple factors, including willingness to recommend their employer to friends and family and assessments of other employers within their industry.
“Earning this recognition for the fifth year in a row highlights the collective efforts of the BCIT community in bringing our vision to life — empowering people, shaping B.C., and inspiring global progress," vice-president of people, culture and inclusion Chris Hudson said in a news release.
“This achievement is a celebration of our people, who are at the core of the Institute’s success in delivering transformative education.”
