A pedestrian-involved hit-and-run in Burnaby sent a 64-year-old woman to hospital Wednesday morning.

Police responded to the intersection of Canada Way and Burris Street at about 6:45 a.m. for reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle, according to an emailed Burnaby RCMP statement.

"Reports indicate the pedestrian was crossing the street when a vehicle turning left onto Canada Way eastbound failed to yield and struck the female pedestrian, injuring her arm," stated the email.

The driver did not remain at the scene, according to police, and the woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to call Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
