Burnaby RCMP seeks dashcam, witnesses after pedestrian-involved crash

Anyone with information or dashcam footage in the area of North Road and Lougheed Highway between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Tuesday is asked to contact Burnaby RCMP.

A crash at Lougheed Highway and North Road sent two female pedestrians to hospital Tuesday.

Police are looking for anyone who witnessed or might have video of a crash involving a pickup truck and two pedestrians Tuesday evening.

Emergency crews were called to the area of North Road and Lougheed Highway at about 5:20 p.m. for reports of the crash.

Photos of the scene show a badly damaged truck and multiple downed light poles.

The driver remained at the scene, but two women were sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but impairment is suspected, police said.

Investigators are now looking to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or might have dashcam video of it.

"The driver of the pickup truck was travelling westbound on Lougheed Highway, just west of North Road, when the collision occurred," Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Mike Kalanj said in a news release Wednesday afternoon. "He could have originated from northbound or southbound North Road or further east from Lougheed Highway."

Anyone with information or dashcam footage in the area of North Road and Lougheed Highway between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday (including after the collision occurred), is asked to contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999. Quote file number 2025-6558.
