Freshman Tyler Morley helped the University of Alaska Fairbanks to an upset 2-1 win over No. 2-ranked North Dakota in the final of the Brice Alaska Gold Rush hockey tournament on Saturday.
Morley helped set up the game-tying goal in the second period.
The former Burnaby Minor forward also tallied one of three power-play goals in a 3-2 victory over Merrimack in a nonconference matchup on Friday to advance to the tournament final.
The championship win was the third in five seasons for the Nanooks. It was also the first victory this season for the Fairbanks squad.
