Final results for the 2024 provincial election have been released by Elections BC.

The winners in Burnaby's five ridings all saw an increase in votes after Elections BC completed its final count on Monday, Oct. 28.

After all the votes were tallied, Premier David Eby and the BC NDP appear to have won a slim majority government, securing the 47-seat minimum.

The Conservative Party of BC would hold 44 seats under the current results with the BC Green Party winning two.

Elections BC, the province's independent elections administrator, said two seats — Kelowna Centre and Surrey-Guildford — were so close, there would be automatic recounts before the standings of the next legislature are confirmed.

In Kelowna Centre, the Conservatives led the NDP by 38 votes. In Surrey-Guildford, the New Democrats led the Conservatives by 27.

The Conservatives led in both districts before the last batch of votes were counted Monday and the Surrey seat flipped to the NDP.

Localy, the NDP swept all five of Burnaby's available MLA seats, with three incumbents also returning to the legislature.

Both running for the first time, Reah Arora and Paul Choi will represent Burnaby East and Burnaby South-Metrotown respectively.

Janet Routledge, representing Burnaby North, will be serving her fourth term while Anne Kang will be serving her third term representing Burnaby Centre.

Raj Chouhan, elected in Burnaby-New Westminster, will be serving his sixth term.
