Preliminary data from Elections BC indicates more than half of registered Burnaby voters cast a ballot during Saturday's, Oct. 19, provincial election.
Initial results show 87,615 out of 172,568 residents participated — equating to 51 per cent.
That's less than the projected 57.43 per cent of all eligible British Columbians that voted in the 2024 election.

Burnaby Centre
- Ballots cast - 16,534
- Registered voters - 33,830
- Percentage: 49 per cent
Burnaby East
- Ballots cast - 19,541
- Registered voters - 36,355
- Percentage - 54 per cent
Burnaby-New Westminster
- Ballots cast - 17,167
- Registered voters - 34,301
- Percentage - 50 per cent
Burnaby North
- Ballots cast - 19,554
- Registered voters - 37,3013
- Percentage - 52 per cent
Burnaby South-Metrotown
- Ballots cast - 14,819
- Registered voters - 31,039
- Percentage - 48 per cent
There was an orange crush in Burnaby, with all five ridings going to the BC NDP, including three incumbents and two first time MLAs.

Janet Routledge (Burnaby North) will be serving her fourth term while Anne Kang (Burnaby Centre) will be serving her third term.
Raj Chouhan, Burnaby's longest current serving MLA, was elected to his sixth term.
Both running for the first time, Reah Arora and Paul Choi are projected to represent Burnaby East and Burnaby South-Metrotown respectively.

- Anne Kang - BC NDP - 9,413 votes (56.93 per cent)
- Dharam Kajal - Conservative Party of BC - 7,121 (43.07 per cent)

- Simon Chandler - Conservative Party of BC - 7,991 votes (40.89 per cent)

- Raj Chouhan - BC NDP - 10,260 votes (59.77 per cent)
