Localized flooding caused by heavy rainfall has made a number of Burnaby streets impassable.
As of 11 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 13), five sections of local roadway had been closed off by the city:
- Douglas Road is closed between Goring Street to Norland Avenue.
- Gilmore Avenue southbound is single lane between Henning Drive/Dawson Street and Still Creek Avenue. The curbside lane is closed. Both northbound lanes are open.
- Still Creek Avenue is closed from Westminster Avenue to Douglas Road, and west of Gilmore is reduced to single lane traffic
- Westminster Avenue is closed from Regent Street to Still Creek Avenue.
- Regent Street is local traffic only as the west portion is flooded up to Westminster Avenue.
