One of four suspects accused in the death of 19-year-old Ryan Nagy in Burnaby in June 2023 has been released on bail with electronic monitoring.

Ryan Nagy died after a targeted "altercation" at a home in the 7600 block of 17th Avenue on June 29, 2023, according to police.

Burnaby RCMP was called to the residence at about 7:05 a.m. for reports of a home invasion, according to a police statement at the time.

Officers located Nagy suffering from life-threatening injuries, and he died at the scene.

A second victim was also located with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Sept. 14, Ousmaine Keita, 20, was charged with manslaughter and forcible confinement in the case along with three co-accused: Ali Shamkhi, 20, Rhoda Diabikulu, 23, and Rais Usman, 20.

Keita appeared in Vancouver provincial court for a bail hearing Monday.

He was released on a $1,500 surety, according to the court registry.

Under his bail conditions, he must live at a specified address in Abbotsford with electronic monitoring and a 10 p.m.-to-6 a.m. curfew

While on bail, he is banned from contacting certain members of Nagy’s family as well as a list of other people.

Because of a publication ban, information presented at Keita’s bail hearing, including the judge's reasons for granting bail, cannot be made public.

Keita's next court date is Nov. 18

His co-accused remain in custody, according to the court registry.
