Police seek dashcam, witnesses of Burnaby crash that critically injured pedestrian

A 57-year-old woman was seriously injured in a crash on Imperial Street at Acacia Avenue Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

RCMP is looking for witnesses and dashcam video after a serious pedestrian-involved crash that left a 57-year-old woman with "critical injuries."

Emergency crews responded to the collision, between a vehicle and a female pedestrian, on Imperial Street near Acacia Avenue at about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release Thursday. 

Police said a Nissan Sentra was travelling east on Imperial Street when the crash occurred. 

The pedestrian was transported to hospital with serious injuries; the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to the release.

Investigators are now working to determine what led  to the crash and are appealing to the public for help.

"If you witnessed the collision or have dashcam video and have not yet spoken to police, we would like to hear from you," said Burnaby RCMP Cpl. Mike Kalanj in the release.

Anyone with information about the crash or dashcam video taken between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday near Imperial Street, Acacia Avenue, and Hersham Avenue, is asked to contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999. Quote file 2025-7482.
