Sunny skies and melting snow are kicking off what promises to be a reasonably springlike week in Burnaby — if we ignore the mixed precipitation overnight tonight.
Yes, the forecast for Burnaby calls for a fairly pleasant start to the week, with a mix of sun and clouds and a high of up to 8 C this afternoon (Monday, March 6). But it looks like Mother Nature could once again throw a little sprinkle of winter our way tonight, as the Weather Network is also forecasting mixed precipitation overnight, heading into a Tuesday morning that feels like just 1 C again.
Once that's out of the way, however, the rest of the week is looking more like spring, with highs of 9 C Wednesday and Thursday, with a mix of sun and clouds on Wednesday and cloudy skies with sunny breaks on Thursday.
By Friday, we could see a few showers and a high of 6 C to take us into a damp but warmish weekend: cloudy with showers on Saturday and light rain on Sunday, with a high of 7C both days.
Environment Canada has no snowfall or other weather warnings in effect for Metro Vancouver right now — which, after a week of snow warnings last week, comes as a pleasant change.
However, Environment Canada's spring forecast warns of likely below-average temperatures through March, April and May in the region.
