RCMP say a woman recently hit by a car in Burnaby has died from her injuries.
Officers responded to the area of Union Street and Sperling Avenue at about 10:40 p.m. last Tuesday, Dec. 17, for reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian, an initial news release stated.
The 24-year-old woman was taken to hospital in critical condition.
The driver remained at the scene and has been cooperating with the investigation.
Impaired driving was not a contributing factor, police said.
The Burnaby RCMP's Criminal Collision Investigation Team is investigating the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage in the area of Union Street and Sperling Avenue between 10 and 11 p.m. is asked to call Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.
