With an exclamation mark, Christine Sinclair rose to the top of the all-time women's soccer scoring list on Wednesday in Canada's win over St. Kitts and Nevis.
The Canadian national team captain scored her 184th and 185th goals of her career in the team's Olympic qualifying game, played in Edinburg, Texas.
She tied American Abby Wambach's record just seven minutes into the contest, sliding a penalty kick chance to the low left corner. She didn't wait long to add another, as Sinclair set the new international goal record on a beautifully executed three-way play in the 26th minute. The record-breaking goal was started by Jessica Fleming, who drove the ball past a defender to the right side, where teammate Adriana Leon took it inside of the goal box and passed it back, where the Burnaby native stopped it and chipped it past the diving goalkeeper.
Canada led 7-0 at halftime.
Canada faces Jamaica on Feb. 1 as part of the three-game tournament.
