Local residents filled the Edmonds Community Centre both inside and out on Saturday because no one wanted to miss the Christmas tree lighting.
The Edmonds Festival of Light on Nov. 23 included arts and crafts activities, a visit from Santa, hot chocolate and local singer Megan Twist performing to spread the Christmas cheer.
The annual event ended when the sun set around 4:30 p.m. with the lighting of the tall tree outside the centre, with big, bright snowflakes and bulbs as decoration.
